I know it’s probably been blogged over a thousand times, but I can not not post this. Apple has made a beautiful App Store Wall for their WWDC in San Francisco. Twenty Mac Pro’s are hooked up to twenty 30” displays, showing off the 20 000 most popular apps ordered by color, and highlighting them with a 5 minute delay when they are bought on the iTunes Music Store. It uses the Quartz Composer and the brand new OpenCL technology.
But it’s not all about the bits and bytes that make this gorgeous piece of art possible. It’s also the idea, and again the interaction that is involved. So to speak has every buyer a unique wobble of its own. This is pure new media galore. Be sure to watch the video.
